We understand and believe that Toddlers are explorers and active learners; therefore, our teaching staff creates a variety of hands-on learning experiences for every child. Each week the curriculum provides goals and objectives appropriate to their age group; teachers use these goals and objectives to plan activities to guide each toddler’s learning and growth.
Starting at 18 months, your toddler is beginning to show independence and excitement for knowledge. Our teachers will carefully plan appropriate activities to embrace this curiosity while catering to your child’s individual needs. Your toddler will experience tremendous milestones such as self feeding, early language, socialization skills,
and physical and cognitive development. Through our teachers' specifically planned activities, your toddler will experience all of these things while incorporating a schedule and routine into their daily lives.
The "Peeps" classroom is furnished with developmentally appropriate equipment and toys to provide toddlers with the materials they need to explore and learn. The classroom is designed for convenience allowing children to eat and sleep in the same classroom. The classroom features a diaper changing and food prep station to maintain the healthiest environment possible. Teachers partner with families to assist in the potty training process to ensure consistency and provide a fun and smooth transition from diaper to toilet.

"Bluebirds"
2 1/2 years to 3 1/2 years
Our "Bluebird" classroom is designed to provide a strong foundation for children preparing them for Preschool and beyond. Positive social skills and self-help skills are essential for success in their future academic careers. Children in this classroom are encouraged to practice many self-help skills, such as dressing themselves, using the restroom and serving themselves at meals.
Our patient and caring teachers focus on these important areas of development, while
also providing many age-appropriate activities in all areas of development. Daily lessons include activities in music, language, science, math, creative art, dramatic play and computers. Language skills are further enhanced at an early age through the daily implementation of our developmentally appropriate Spanish Program. Physical development is focused upon as children continue to participate daily in our music and movement activities.

"Kookybirds"

In our Pre-Kindergarten Program, children conquer new skills and practice learned skills in preparation for their next academic endeavor. We focus on the philosophy that young children learn best through playing, exploring, experimenting and creating. Pre-K children participate in many hands-on, integrated and fun learning activities. Each Pre-K classroom has distinct learning centers which include: blocks, science, sensory, dramatic play, math & manipulatives, language, writing, computers, gross motor, music and creative art.
Lesson plans and learning centers provide children with opportunities to expand their
imaginations, make choices, practice self-help skills and develop their language, listening and independent thinking skills.
Aware of the elementary content expectations, our curriculum provides extra attention to core subjects including math and language arts. Having a school readiness
focus, teachers monitor each child’s development and work with children individually to prepare them for Kindergarten.
Our primary goal at Allendale Academy is to prepare your preschooler for kindergarten. This is such an exciting and important time in your child’s future.
